Pipe Organ

The organ at St. James is a Walker/Moller organ, given to the church by Dr. George Baker of Dallas in 2020 and installed by Red River Organ Company of Norman, OK in the spring and summer of 2021. The dedication of the instrument was given by David Anderson on November 15, 2021 and featured a newly composed work for the instrument by Breck McGough.

The pipe organ began life as a Double Artiste Moller organ in a Presbyterian church in Louisville, KY. Dr. Baker purchased the organ in 2007 to be the core of his house organ. He made many changes to the instrument- swapping out a rank for a real 19th century Stoltz harmonic flute rank, adding an Aeolian-Skinner console and retrofitting an extra manual to it, and the extensive addition of digital Walker stops.
